Privacy Policy
What personal data this site collects, why, and what you can do about it — under Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, and, for readers in the European Union, the GDPR.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Jadoua Benseghir, publisher and editor-in-chief of The Moroccan Law Review, individual publisher, Casablanca, Morocco.

2. The short version
- The Site uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts of any kind.
- Nothing is collected when you simply read the Site, beyond the technical logs any web server keeps.
- Personal data is collected only when you choose to fill in one of the three forms (contact, consultation request, paper submission).
- Your data is never sold, rented or used for marketing.
3. What is collected, and why
When you browse
The Site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts. There is no analytics tool, no advertising pixel, and no consent banner because none is needed.
The hosting provider processes technical data automatically as part of serving and protecting the Site: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser type and general country. This is used only to deliver pages, block attacks and keep the service running. The editor does not use it to identify or profile visitors.
When you use a form

Each form also contains a hidden anti-spam field. If it is filled in — which only an automated bot does — the message is discarded and nothing is sent.
Purpose: to read your message, answer it, and where relevant discuss an engagement or a submission.
Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form, and the steps taken at your request before any engagement.
Please do not send confidential, privileged or specially sensitive personal data (health, religion, criminal proceedings, political or trade-union membership) through these forms. If your enquiry involves such matters, describe it in general terms and a secure channel will be arranged.
4. Who processes it
Your form data passes through, and is stored by, the following providers acting on the editor’s behalf:

No one else receives your data. It is not shared with advertisers, data brokers or any third party for their own purposes.
Because these providers are established outside Morocco, using the Site involves a transfer of personal data abroad within the meaning of Articles 43 and 44 of Law No. 09-08. Transfers rely on the providers’ contractual data-protection commitments, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses where applicable.
Data may be disclosed if a competent authority or a court requires it by law.
5. How long it is kept
- Enquiries and consultation requests: kept while the exchange is live and for up to 3 years after the last contact, then deleted.
- Paper submissions: kept while under review; declined submissions and their files are deleted within 12 months of the decision; accepted submissions are kept for as long as the article remains published, as part of the editorial record.
- Server logs: kept by the hosting provider for a short technical period under its own retention rules.
6. Your rights
Under Law No. 09-08 you have the right of access, of rectification, and of opposition to the processing of your data on legitimate grounds. If you are in the European Union, the GDPR additionally gives you rights of erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, write to [email protected] with enough detail to identify your data. You will receive a reply within 30 days.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may complain to the Moroccan supervisory authority, the Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel (CNDP) — www.cndp.ma ↗ — or, if you are in the European Union, to your national data protection authority.
7. Security
Form data is transmitted over HTTPS and handled by the providers listed above under their own security measures. No system is perfectly secure; you send data over the internet at your own risk, which is why sensitive material should not go through the forms.
8. Children
The Site is aimed at legal professionals, researchers and organisations. It is not directed at children, and no data is knowingly collected from anyone under 18.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date shown above.
